The Old Barn Tea Room

The Old Barn Tearoom situated in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park in the beautiful village of Malham.

In the tearoom we sell homemade cakes, light meals, and snacks.

Opening Hours

Mid-February to Early November we are open 09:30 – 17:00.

On those warm sunny days, we extend those hours subject to demand. If you have a group walking and want an earlier breakfast, please give us a call.

November to Early February we are open 09:30 – dusk at weekends and selected days during the week. Please check our Facebook page for the latest update.



Real dairy ice-cream from Brymor from the Dales ice cream farm at Masham.

Homemade biscuits by Grandma Wild, award winning Jams and chutneys from Bracken Hill, beautiful wool blend scarves, homemade bunting and reusable jute gift bags. Not forgetting your four legged friends we also have lots of treats for them. We also stock hampers from malham hampers and gifts

   A wee gem of a tea room
Wonderful to find a CHOICE of delicious, home made GLUTEN FREE delights! Savoury and sweet!!A friendly wee tea room, providing a wide selection of food and first class coffee (&tea of course!)    Excellent in every way
We were very impressed with this charming little cafe. (Outside tables too.) We had Coffee and Cake. Delicious. Friendly service and spotlessly clean tables. We will be back there for the Big breakfast. Plenty of food choices and homemade soup to warm up after a walk or village wander.    Great little cafe
Popped in here for lunch after walking to Malham Cove.  Toasties were exceptionally good. Offered with a choice of chips or a cup of home made soup.  The soup was delicious and very hot.  The cakes and pies on display looked wonderful too.  The service was very quick, despite them being busy.  Prices were very reasonable.  Highly recommended.

   Great food, great staff
The food offered really good value for money in a prime holidaying location. The jacket potatoes were amazing with more than enough filling and fresh ingredients. I have to say that the staff were brilliant and very warm and welcoming. I will definitely return on my next visit to the Yorkshire Dales.

   Great food, lovely little tearoom
Had lunch here after walking Malham Cove. Great value for amazing toasties, tons of filling with salad, crisps and coleslaw. Yorkshire tea in big pot with a mug. Friendly happy staff and lots of different seating areas. Highly recommend.
